AcryliCon was asked to install a kitchen floor for CHR Food Service Equipment Ltd, through their Cedabond membership, a leading buying group for catering equipment in the food industry.

Client Brief

CHR Foodservice Equipment Ltd had asked for an easy to clean, non-porous floor system with a seamless cove for easy washdowns and added slip resistance, all with the ability to last 10 years plus.

Solution

Acrylicon Décor 4mm trowel applied system was installed on a 18mm wooden marine ply substrate due to the kitchen being located on the first floor of the building.

Using AcryliCons Fibre glass Arming system, an additional layer was installed to provide added reinforcement. By using different fibreglass types and densities, encapsulated within Acrylicon flexible resin, a wide range of solutions to various substrate issues was provided.

With a compressive strength of 94N/mm2 the Acrylicon Décor system can resist dirt being squeezed into the floor by daily use thus making it easier to keep clean and hygienic. Perfect for this environment.

Installation Time

Due to the floors being able to fully cure (resistant to chemical attack, including water) in just two hours the installation was completed within the time allocated and most importantly allowing the fit out of the new kitchen to go ahead as planned.
