Concrete refurbishment and Acrylicon Flake System installation across five floors of a fully occupied, 24/7 shared office building in London — delivered overnight, in phases, over a two-month programme.
Our task was to bring the old, worn concrete floors up to the modern, high standard Workspace’s clients expect — all while keeping the building open for 24-hour access throughout.
Workspace, with over 60 locations, provide home to London’s brightest businesses. Their stunningly designed flexible offices, studios and workshops have proved very popular with companies of every kind, and each location has its own unique identity and theme.
The Biscuit Factory is one such location — made up of several buildings that would have been used as a biscuit factory many years ago — and its Bourbon Block was in need of an update.
We completed all shared areas over 5 floors — including toilets, kitchens, corridors and lift lobbies — working at night to minimise disruption and keeping the building open at all times.
Being a very old building, the concrete was very worn and uneven in places. We fixed and levelled these areas using Acrylicon’s fast cure screeds, which cured in just 2 hours — meaning the floors could still be used the next day.
The Acrylicon Flake System was then installed throughout, giving a hard-wearing, decorative finish that lifts the look and feel of the whole building.
